Obituary of Maxine Scogin

Maxine Clara Scogin of Eugene, Oregon passed away on July 14, 2014 after a brief illness, at the age of 101.She was born on May 20, 1913 in Raymond, Washington to Herman & Alice (Winters) McLaughlin.Maxine graduated from Roseburg High School in 1932 and married Clifford Max Scogin on January 29, 1934 in Aberdeen, Washington. He died September 11, 1994.She was a homemaker and had many cats, which she considered her ‘Children.’ She had a passion for arts and crafts which included beadwork, plastic canvas and different embroidery work. In her later years she enjoyed reading and her weekly Bingo outings and shopping trips.She is survived by 3 nieces, Lourayne Chase of Mill Creek, WA, Mavis Albert of California & Penny Jackson (Jerry) of Springfield, OR; two nephews, Clifford Scogin (Bonnie) of Vancouver, WA; & R. Barry Vann (Polly) of Redmond, WA.Maxine was preceded in death by her husband and a sister, Audrey L Vann who died May 21, 2008.Memorial contributions can be made to Greenhill Humane Society.Per Maxine’s request no services are planned.Arrangements entrusted to Musgrove Family Mortuary.
