Obituary of Robert L. Campbell

Robert Lee Campbell went to be with the Lord, whom he faithfully served, on June 11, 2014. He was born on November 1, 1933 in Logansport, Indiana. He served in the US Air Force for 23 years and 18 years in the US Postal Service. His military tours were in Korea and Vietnam. After the war in Korea ended, he was in the Strategic Air Command (S.A.C.), Air Weather Service and Command Post. In his free time in Vietnam he was a volunteer in an orphanage. While working for the Postal Service, he graduated from Northwest Christian University in Eugene, Oregon, attended Golden Gate Seminary Satellite in Portland, Oregon and served as Senior Adult Minister in his church. He was pastor of Oak Bay Baptist Church in Port Hadlock, Washington for three years before moving to Yuma, Arizona in 2004. Robert and his wife, Susie, served as Mission Service Corp Volunteers for North American Mission Board for 10 years, starting R.V. park missions at Sundance R.V. Resort, Bonita Mesa R.V. Resort in Yuma and K. Bar R.V. Resort in Showlow, Arizona. He is survived by his wife, Susie; 3 children, Michelle Waite and Marc Campbell of Springfield, Oregon and Carol Campbell of Tumwater, Washington; four stepchildren, Marvin McDonald of Christmas Valley, Oregon, David McDonald of Elk City, Idaho, Regina Walters of Yuma, Arizona and Angela Denster of Gilchrist, Oregon; two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, ten step-great-grandchildren and four step-great-great-grandchildren, and a brother, Tom Campbell, of Galesburg, IL. Robert was preceded in death by his first wife Barbara, an infant daughter, his parents and five brothers and sisters. A memorial service will be held July 19th at 1:00pm at Musgrove Family Mortuary, 1152 Olive Street in Eugene. If friends desire, memorials may be sent to “Wounded Warriors” in his name.
