Obituary of Helga Mendez

Helga Edith Loop Mendez, 86 of Eugene, passed away on July 14, 2014. She was born on February 26, 1928 in Hockenheim, Germany to Erwin and Erma (Fuchs) Rehberger. She moved to the United States from Germany in 1948.Helga married Robert Loop in Eugene in 1954. Together they owned and operated TruView picture tubes in Eugene. She married Simon Mendez on September 23, 1996 in Reno, Nevada.She worked at Safeway as a checker and Montgomery Wards and then for the Emporium.In her younger years she enjoyed water skiing, snow skiing and working in her yard.Helga is survived by her husband and a brother, Manfred Rehberger (Diana) of Eugene, nine nieces and nephews, eight great and two great great.She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Loop and two brothers, Karl & Helmut Rehberger & a nephew, Robert Rehberger.A graveside service will be held Monday, July 21st at 1:00 PM at Rest Haven Memorial Park. A public visitation will be Monday from 9:00 to 12:00 at Musgrove Family Mortuary.Memorial contributions can be made to Greenhill Humane Society.Arrangements entrusted to Musgrove Family Mortuary.
