Obituary of Patricia Campbell

Patricia Rae Campbell of Eugene, OR passed away July 29, 2014 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease at the age of 75. Patty was born December 26, 1938 in Eugene, OR to Reuben and Dolores Thomas. She graduated from Springfield High School in 1956 and married George Ronald Campbell in November 1957 in Reno, NV. While George was serving in the U.S. Army, Patty remained by his side. The majority of this time was spent in Augusta, GA at Fort Gordon. They returned to the Eugene/Springfield area to raise their family. The family often spent time, camping and fishing at various lakes in Oregon. Among her hobbies, Patty enjoyed gardening and attending sporting and school events with her children. Many remember Patty from her days at Decker’s Nursery and Gray’s Garden Center where she spent many years in the retail nursery trade. In 1972, Patty and George fulfilled a lifelong dream by moving to a family farm in Alvadore, OR. They eventually purchased property on River Road where they resided for over 30 years, establishing a well-known U-Cut Christmas Tree Farm that is still in operation. Patty is survived by her husband of 56 years, George, two sons Mike (wife Judy), Steven, and one daughter Linda Nix (all of Eugene), 5 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, mother Dolores, and sister Judy Willis. A viewing will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2014 from 3-7 PM. A Memorial to celebrate her life is scheduled for Sunday, August 3, 2014 at 2:00 PM at West Lawn Memorial Funeral Home in Eugene.
