Obituary of Kim Thiele

Kim Charles Thiele, age 62, of Springfield, OR, passed away during the morning hours of August 13, 2014 at home.Kim was born March 9, 1952 in Portland, OR. He was the second of three children, and the only son, of Judith Alfild and Charles Fredrick Thiele.Kim attended McKenzie Elementary School, Goshen Elementary School, Hamlin Middle School and graduated from Springfield High School in 1970. He attended Lane Community College and the University of Oregon where he pursued a degree in Law Enforcement.Kim started working with his dad during his high school years in the family business, McKenzie Disposal. He worked a short time for the Springfield Police Department, was a business partner in Danebo Waste Disposal, owned Aamco in Springfield, did commercial sales for Sanipac, and retired with Lane Apex Disposal.Kim established many great relationships and enjoyed being an active member of Lane Leaders. He also enjoyed time spent with family and friends, fishing, golf, bowling, and the outdoors.On July 1, 1972 Kim married the love of his life, Denise Adele Rogers, daughter of Leota Elma and stepdaughter of Arvel Lee Ash. He is survived by his wife Denise of 42 years, son Brent Thiele and his wife Karri and their sons Gavin and Parker, daughter Shawna Gilbert and her husband Alan and their daughters McKenna, Brooklyn and Gabrielle, and his sisters Tana and Cathy Thiele. His parents Judith and Charles preceded him in death.A celebration of life service will be held at Eugene Christian Fellowship, 89780 N Game Farm Rd, Eugene, OR 97408 on Thursday, August 21st at 1PM with a reception to follow.Arrangements entrusted to Musgrove Family Mortuary.
