It is with great sadness that I learned of Bill's passing. I considered Bill a great friend. We shared long conversations on how to build and improve wrestling at every level. What I admired about Bill the most was his gentle heart. He never missed an opportunity to help any kid who seemed to be struggling whether on the mat or personal problems. Bill stood with the best of them in Ontario Wrestling and includes a very impressive list. I will miss you my friend, till we meet again

Sorry for your loss. I remember being in Edmonton at the Butter Dome after his amputation and putting him on the mat. He taught the young officials positioning and still having a good view of the pin. He thanked meatier that day for challenging him to not let the loss of his lower leg hold him back. Rest well my friend

I'm saddened by the news of Bill's passing. As a teacher with the London Board, we crossed path in many ways but most often during the wrestling season. Teachers like Bill, Lorne Davis and Fred Leeson spent countless hours helping young athletes discover in themselves important life skills. Bo, you're likely a reflection of your dad; I can remember how you were his very special athlete. Your dad will be missed but never forgotten.

When VON sent me to be Bill's personal caregiver almost 10 years ago, I had no idea of the strong bond that would grow between us. As a PSW and an RPN I gave my all for him to have a better quality of life. It was always a great experience that we interacted so well together and joyful to see him happy that I was there. I will always treasure these moments and the moments with his family, that were always so giving and kind. Thank you! Sorry this time had to come, but no more pain and discomfort for you. Arthur Skinner, Registered Practical Nurse (RPN), and Personal Support Worker (PSW)

Sorry for you loss Sue. Bill was a great man who had a really positive impact on me. I'll never forget my first interaction with him, we were in Regina and I was alone upset after I had just lost a big match and he saw me and came over and helped me enjoy the journey rather than focus on the defeat. I didn't even know that he knew who I was and he talked to me for 30 minutes things that hes noticed over the previous year from me. Over the next few years I enjoyed getting to know the two of you at the wrestling tournaments and hear him talk about the kids, wrestling, trips the two of you had gone one or were planning, the horses, you name it nothing was off the table. I loved that it didn't matter if it was a happy subject or a tough one he always talked open and honestly. It's been a while since we spoke last but I'll always appreciate the advice he gave to me.

We met Bill and Sue 44 years ago when Jeff and Bill were on the same slo-pitch team (ANAF) and for the past 42 years have enjoyed their company at Western Mustang football games. Along the way there were kids, grandkids and many, many Girl Guide cookies, mutual friends and all of life's twists and turns. At every step we have been lucky to have the Perkins family as friends. Section C will never be quite the same. -Jeff & Gloria
