Obituary of Thomas Alan Dickinson

Passed in London, on August 26th, 2012, in his 83rd year. Beloved husband and very best friend of the late Mary Lou (née Douglas), for almost 60 years. Alan is survived by son Douglas of Valrico, Florida and daughter Susan Hathaway (Brian), of Appin. A loving Grandfather to Danielle, Julie (Ian), and Ben (Laura) and cherished Great Grandfather of Gryffin and Dylan. Alan spent many years with the T. Eaton Co. in Senior Management positions before joining Young’s Jewellers in the late sixties. He was elected President of the Canadian Jewellers Association. He was an active volunteer and served as president of the Canadian Cancer Society of London and Middlesex from 1972 - 1974. Alan loved sports, participated in many, was an avid curler and served as President of the London Curling Club in 1972 - 1973. Cremation has taken place. Friends are welcome to join the family for a celebration of his life at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North on Thursday, August 30th, 2012 at 1:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Alan may do so to the charitable organization of their choice.
