You will be so missed Ron. Your knowledge, dedication and will to "do the job right ", will forever be etched in my memory. It was an honour to have known you, and very re-assuring to run on track you have inspected. I'm sure that wherever you are, the ballast will be perfect, the ties new, and the rail as true and smooth as possible. Rest in the knowledge you "did it right". Steve Bradley OBRY / Cando

Ron was my first Supervisor at CN. A true professional, and a gentleman who treated everyone with respect. His legacy will live on in those of us who will continue to follow his example. As long as he continues to live in our hearts and memories, he will really never be gone.

The word " Quit " was not in his vocabulary . I have numerous fond memories of him, Peggy and Christine at Echo Valley and Greenhills. I kpray your many great memories will help in these difficult times .

I had the pleasure of working with Ron briefly in the late nineties and one of the many engineers he tried to educate. He is one of the last of the old guard who was a railroad professional and gentleman in every sense of the word. His kind are rapidly disappearing and his knowledge and experience will be sorely missed. Well done, Ron, your track is now perfect and free of defects!

Working with Ron for 11 years on the OBR Line. He would be on the job start to finish and made sure it was right. And then he would explain exactly the job in every detail, I would listen and learn from the best. And Peggy wasn't far away, in the car waiting with their dog, what a Team. Will miss seeing you all at the Crossing Projects.. But, the memories will be forever present. Job well done, Team Hugill! God Bless You Ron and take care off your family! Perry Noseworthy CANTRAX

Dear Peggy, My love and prayers are with you and your family. It is sad that we do not get to really know our cousins and their families as well as we do those friends that live closer to us. I regret that I only met Ron a couple of times and never knew him. As everyone who has written here thought so highly of him I know you were truly blessed with a Godly Husband. May the grace of Christ's love surround and comfort you as it does Ron. Love, Janet.

Peggy and Family, words are inadequate at these sad times but take comfort in knowing that our thoughts are with you. Ron was a good friend and teammate. Our oldtimer hockey memories will remain forever. He particularly enjoyed the trip to Snoopy in California. Ron and I first met, although we didn't know it at the time, when we were teenagers playing against each other in the Ontario juvenile baseball playoffs. He played for Clinton and I for Dresden. Ron was well respected and I was privileged to have been his friend.
