Obituary of Bob Morris
Bob Morris of Eugene passed away peacefully in his home on September 9th after a short battle with leukemia. He was born on May 16th in Bemidji, Minnesota to Wendell “Buz” and Ruth Morris. He moved to Oregon at age 8, and attended school in both Eugene & Springfield and was a graduate of Springfield High.Bob worked in the grocery business at an early age and quickly moved up to produce manager at age 19. He was the owner of the N Street Market and Miss Mike’s fudge. He also worked for NW Natural Gas for 34 years. He had a generous heart and volunteered often. To list a few; Big Brother-Big Sister, Meals on Wheels, Booster Clubs for Willamette and Springfield High Schools, Football Coaching, Brownsville Church and Linn County Museum. He was fondly remembered by many as “Santa.”Bob and his wife Rosalie recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. He loved being involved with everything and rarely missed a sporting event of his beloved grandsons. Most remember his sense of humor and his ability to make people smile. His daily goal was to “make someone laugh.” He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with family and friends. Trips to Hawaii and most recently Australia were highlights in his life.He is survived by his wife Rosalie, daughters, Paige Michelle Weiskind (Tim), Val Ficker (David), Christie Conant, and Shondra Holliday (Ron), a brother, Jim Morris (Debby). He also cherished his grandsons Kyle, Andrew, Jake, Gary, Cameron, Parker and Matt.He is preceded in death by his parents, his infant sister and his brother, Dave.The memorial will be held at Brownsville Christian Church on Sunday, September 21st at 2pm.Arrangements entrusted to Musgrove Family Mortuary.
