Obituary of Dennis H. Murphy

Dennis H. Murphy passed away in the early morning hours of September 2nd, 2014, at the age of 82. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska on March 2, 1932 to Beatrice Case and Harvey Murphy, both deceased. Dennis enlisted in the US Air Force in March of 1949 and served in the occupation forces in Japan, and throughout the Korean War. He retired as a Master Sergeant in 1969. Dennis went on to become a Facilities Manager for the State of Oregon, retiring in Salem, Oregon in 1985. He is survived by his loving wife, Reiko (Eugene), daughters Patricia (Eugene), Linda (Klamath Falls), brother Norman Scott Callahan (Georgia), and sole grandson, Branden (Klamath Falls). Early in his military career he worked as a radio maintenance technician for the Far East Network in Tokyo, Japan. It was then that he developed an interest in electronics that would become a lifelong hobby and pursuit. He will be laid to rest at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon, with full military honors on September 29, 2014 at 11:00 am. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.Dennis H.
