Peacefully on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at University Hospital, London in his 91st year. Beloved husband of Anne for 58 years, loving father of Maria (Rod) Wensley, Jack (Vera), Henry (Kathy), Will (Sharon), John (Ann), Jim (Dawn) Vanderloop and adored OPA to Carla (Adam), Brent (Mel), Tyler (Collette), Jenilee (Charles), Kaeleigh (Jason), Shannon, Justin, Brittney (Joe), Lindsay, Michael (Sarah), Lisa and Rachel and 5 great grandchildren and survived by brother-in-law Leo Vandenberg and sister-in-law Christine Wydeven in Canada and other loved relatives in Holland. Martin was "Opa", kind and gentle and loving and patient and a constant presence in the lives of his expanding family. He held his family together and his friends in constant contact and to this day his 6 children all live within 4 miles of each other, a wonderful benefit and proud legacy for this exceptionally kind and gentle man with a quick and gentle wit. His family is blessed to have had him in their lives and those of their children through these years and will miss him deeply. Visitation will take place at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday.
