Obituary of Roy Bradetich

Roy Joseph “Brad” Bradetich died, Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at his home in Eugene. He is survived by his four children: Joe Bradetich of Los Angeles, Jeff Bradetich of Denton, Texas, Terry Bradetich of Springfield, Wendy Bradetich of Brussels, Belgium, 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.Brad was born in Bend 11/16/30 to Croatian immigrant parents Roy and Mary Bradetich who came to the US in the 1920’s. He graduated from the UO in the early 1950’s with Bachelors and Masters degrees in Physical Education and Math and ran the two-mile for the UO track team. He was honorably discharged after serving in the Army, then pursued a successful High School and Middle School coaching and teaching career in many sports in Philomath, McMinnville, The Dalles and at Eugene schools Wilson, Jefferson and Kennedy.After working for 30 years in Irvine and Santa Barbara, California, he retired to Eugene where at 80 years of age he continued to coach girls basketball and umpire city league softball.
