Obituary of Don Wright

WRIGHT, Don - In the calm of a late summer afternoon, on Friday, September 9, 2011, Don Wright (68), son of the late May and Don Wright, while in the arms of family, passed quietly from this place. It must be known that he did not go lightly; Don fought bravely with vigor, wit and humour. When fighting was no longer wise, he let go with grace, resolve and dignity. Don will be deeply missed by Joyce, his loving wife of 47 years, admiring son and ‘daughter’ Glen and Tanis Wright, and by adoring grandsons Jake, Colin and Ayden. Special thanks and greatest respect are offered to Dr. Albert Mok and Dr. Andrea Mok for their care above and beyond all expectations. Don’s family would like to express sincere and heartfelt gratitude to their extended family and friends. We are blessed by each one of you and are honoured by your actions. Don’s family also offer their deepest appreciation to the nurses of the VON and to all of the personal care workers: not just for their consummate professionalism, but for their personal caring and honest compassion. A Celebration of Life for Don will be conducted at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, on Friday, September 16, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Don are asked to consider the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Wellspring or the VON. Don touched many lives and was truly “a good and gentle man” with a brilliant wit and intellect. Go in peace, Don
