Anita & Leah, Kismet is a strange animal. I haven't looked at the London Free Press online in months and never before at the Obituaries. I happened to look at both today and for some reason, thought of your Mom as I clicked on the obituary link. Imagine my surprise and sadness when I saw Mary's name there! I have such vivid memories of you both and of your Mom, Dad and Grandparents. Borscht in the kitchen, piano lessons in the living room, swimming in the backyard, having your Dad work his snowblower magic on our driveway!!! Your family is a very strong image from my childhood and adolesence in London. I was fortunate to have an amazing visit with your Mom in her kitchen a few years ago. I live in BC now, but was out there for a course. I took a side strip to London for visit and as I so often do when I am there, I took a drive down Stephen Street for old times sake. I saw your Mom walking the dog, so I stopped to say hello. She not only insisted on taking me across Norman St. for a tour of our old house, she and I sat and had a great visit over a cup of tea and cookies! She showed me pictures of you both and your families and we reminisced about my Mother, your Father and life back when we all lived there. I feel very fortunate to have had that chance to see her again. Mary was a strong, wonderful woman. She was tough as nails but always made me feel like she cared. She will be missed.
