Leah & Alanna, I am so sorry for your loss. Take comfort in remembering all of the great times you had together. Even though you can't see her, you'll continue to feel her love as she continues to watch over you from Heaven, just as she did when she was here. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. xoxo

Anita and Leah - We were so sorry to hear about the unexpected passing of your Mom and our Aunty Mary. Our families have a long history together - full of good times, laughter and some tears, too. I'll always remember and cherish our teen years, sitting in your Mom's kitchen, drinking endless pots of tea, and sharing our hopes and dreams and current escapades. We were sure responsible for a few grey hairs, weren't we? But our dear Moms were always there for us, and you know they will continue to watch over us, from above, as our Special Angels. I'm sure both of our Mary's are having quite the reunion! God bless you and yours. With love and fondest memories, Judy Peterson and Family

Anita & Leah, Kismet is a strange animal. I haven't looked at the London Free Press online in months and never before at the Obituaries. I happened to look at both today and for some reason, thought of your Mom as I clicked on the obituary link. Imagine my surprise and sadness when I saw Mary's name there! I have such vivid memories of you both and of your Mom, Dad and Grandparents. Borscht in the kitchen, piano lessons in the living room, swimming in the backyard, having your Dad work his snowblower magic on our driveway!!! Your family is a very strong image from my childhood and adolesence in London. I was fortunate to have an amazing visit with your Mom in her kitchen a few years ago. I live in BC now, but was out there for a course. I took a side strip to London for visit and as I so often do when I am there, I took a drive down Stephen Street for old times sake. I saw your Mom walking the dog, so I stopped to say hello. She not only insisted on taking me across Norman St. for a tour of our old house, she and I sat and had a great visit over a cup of tea and cookies! She showed me pictures of you both and your families and we reminisced about my Mother, your Father and life back when we all lived there. I feel very fortunate to have had that chance to see her again. Mary was a strong, wonderful woman. She was tough as nails but always made me feel like she cared. She will be missed. My heartfelt sympathies to you all. Melanie

Anita and Leah, I was very sorry to have heard of the death of your mother. For many happy years after you bought a pool from Canadian Pools, I was involved with your mom and dad helping to service the pool. I will always remember Leo and I trying to solve the world's problems, once the pool was winterized, over a beer ; and often , after your dad had passed away, your mom would have a bowl of soup ready for me after the job was done. I will never forget them and they will be in my prayers tonight.I offer you and your families my condolences and my prayers go out to you all. Regards, Paul Fmr. Service Mgr. Canadian Pools

Dear Anita: How sad to lose your Mum. I lost mine last year and it is a terrible blow. I feel for you and your family. It was very nice to have chatted with you in June at Dr. Flores clinic. I do know how much you love your parents. I had a dog named Roxy also. How sad for your Mum's poor furry girl to lose her Mum, too. Julie Bacon, GNGH Volunteer

Dear Leah, So many years have passed since I last saw you and your Mom but I will never forget how I met your mother. She came into the store where I worked, waited patientlly for me to finish with a customer and then with a serious look on her face said (and I remember her exact words) "Just what have you been doing to my daughter?". She struck absolute fear into my teenaged boy heart. Leah, I swear I can still see her and hear her as if it were mere moments ago. She let me off the hook in short order but I'm sure I must have turned absolutely white. I still laugh about it when I think of it almost 40 years later. Your Mom must have been a lot of fun to have in your life. I wish you well. David Smith
