I would like to express my sincerest condolences to Smokey's family. I had the privilege and pleasure of serving on OPSEU's Executive Board with Smokey during the mid-nineties. I was very saddened to hear about Smokey's passing. Smokey was one of a kind, and I admired his frankness, honesty and wonderful sense of humour. He inspired me to get involved in OPSEU many years ago. He was a very courageous and strong union man and a true worker's ally. He will be sadly missed by all. My deepest sympathy to his family.
