Peter Hockin posted a condolence
Dear Kathy and Children: I am so sorry to hear of Steve. My connection to Steve was through hockey. Everyone in the dressing room loved watching Steve bust into the room, always a little bit late, but still able to beat most of us onto the ice for the warm-up. I played defence and unfortunately, more often than not, against Steve because he was such a strong and effective player. We will miss him on the ice and especially in the room. My sincere condolences. Peter Hockin.

Dear Kathy and family: I was shocked and saddened to hear of Steve’s passing. Steve and I went to Central together I had the opportunity to play on many sports teams with Steve over the years. It has been a while since we last spoke but this unfortunate event brings to light the fragility of life and how we need to savour every moment that we can with family, friends and coworkers. The condolences posted here about Steve indicate that he did exactly just that. Enjoy and relive the many fine memories that you have of Steve and the role he played in your respective lives. God Bless. Rick

I amongst many knew Steve through golf at Riverbend. I feel so very privileged to have met him, played with him and shared so many laughs with him. On the course, Steve was very competitive and if you were playing any kind of team event, he was your man. He would give you 120% but not without being a true sportsman, recognizing any good shot regardless of who hit it. I don’t know Steve very well off the course but judging from his family and friends, I can see more importantly what kind of man he was off the course. Steve will be missed but never forgotten…..we love you buddy!

George Georgopoulos posted a condolence
Shocked and saddened. Just returned from a month away in Greece and read this obit hoping it wasn't the Steve that I grew up with. From public school at Lord Roberts to high school at Central, Steve was the consumate gentleman and superb athlete. Never a negative thought or gesture, not once a mean word to anyone and always handled things with that great smile of his. Fortunately we've run into each other these past few years along with Kathy...the two inseparable best friends. How lucky we are to have had Steve in our lives, whether it was a lifetime or a short time, the pleasure was all ours. My heart weeps for you Kathy and your children, however know that you have the greatest angel of all watching over you for now and forever. May God Bless you all. Steve Waugh will never be forgotten. George Georgopulos & Family.

My thoughts are with all the family. I knew Steve through high school at Central. He was always positive and a good friend back then. Time seems to pass us all and we lost touch. I had the pleasure of meeting up again with Steve when I had my car serviced. Again a smiling face that took you back through time. Although we lose track of many people in our lives will still don’t forget the ones who left their imprint.

Dear Kathy and family, I am part of Steve's Oxford family. We are all in shock and deeply saddened by his passing. Steve was my co-worker on Saturday's and we talked many times Kathy when you called into service to talk to him. He was a true gentleman, and there aren't many left today. I just can't wrap my head around the fact I'm not going to see him when I go back to work. We are all richer for having known him and poorer for having lost him. May God Bless you and the family, may your memories bring you comfort and know all of us have you in our thoughts and prayers.
