Obituary of James 'Jim' Frew
Passed away suddenly at home in London, on Sunday, July 26, 2020, in his 82nd year. Beloved husband of the late Janet Frew for over 50 years. Loving father of Lesley Ann Frew (Robert McPherson), Martin Frew (late Christine), Aileen Conway (Todd) and Christine King (Scott). Also loved by his eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Survived by his sister-in-law Nan McCluskey and brother-in-law Andrew Ferguson in Scotland. Jim will also be greatly missed by his nieces and nephews in the UK and the United States, his extended family and so many of his lifelong golfing buddies and friends. Jim’s first home that he shared with his Mum, Dad and three sisters was in Chapelton, Scotland. At 18 he joined the Royal Air Force working as an air traffic controller for 12 years before risking it all to move to Canada in 1972. Jim was quickly introduced to golf, and the rest, as they say, is history. From that moment on he lived, breathed and watched golf. Jim was known for his huge laugh (Basil Brush) and soft heart. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 31, 2020 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where a funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. Interment at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
