John, my deepest condolences to you and your family! Tye was such a wonderful guy who always brought a smile to my face! I had the pleasure of getting to know Tye through the Best Buddies program at Western University while I was living in London. We had some fond memories bowling, mini-putting and drinking Tim Hortons coffee together. He was an amazing person that had a tremendous impact on so many people including myself. Sending my love, Angela

Toby, Mr. Ryan, Rebecca and family. My condolences to you all. It's been a long time but when I received the sad new I was flooded with great memories I had at the Ryan house that most definitely included hanging out with Tye. Although I didn't know it at the time, as I sit and reflect I realize how your family's unconditional love and inclusion made me a more compassionate person who now works in the human services field. Sorry for your loss and thanks for the life lesson. Sincerely, Gregg

Tye was such a friendly soul to me. We were the same age and he was easy to get along with when we were youngsters. I thought about him twice this month, and I wondered why? Life is precious and maybe I was swirling around in his thoughts and he was swirling in mine - days gone by. Well, I love you Tye.....and you were very special to me. I spent a lot of time with my cousins Tracy and Trevor.....and Aunt Sam and Uncle Charlie introduced me to you. We played and had fun....."we had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun....". Love you TYE! xoxo Thank you for being a part of my life xoxo

So sorry to hear of Ryan’s passing. He was an amazing young man. Ryan was in a class which I team-taught with another teacher at Princess Anne. My teaching partner was pregnant the year we had Ryan in our class. We were very surprised when Ryan approached the other teacher, pointed at her abdomen and signed “2” and “same”. Imagine this person’s surprise when she later delivered twins. This was before ultrasounds were so common and she knew nothing of the twins till they were delivered, but Tye did. A truly amazing perception. Undoubtedly there are so many other Ryan stories to help you through this very difficult time. My thoughts are with your family.

My sincerest condolences in the passing of Tye. He was one of my fist students I worked with at Princess Anne School. Always had a smile on his face. It’s funny as to what we do remember about a student. With Tye, his favourite sandwich for lunch was cold meats with corn relish. You were an inspiration. You inspired me. Rest in sweet Peace. John! Sandi and I send you our deep and sincere condolences on the death of Tye. We have very clear memories of our times together in the seventies when Tye was a babe and a young boy. His sparkling personality was already evident then and his face would frequently shine with excitement. You and Cathy were rapidly learning about both Down and deafness. You thrived in the challenge of parenthood. And Tye turned out to be a wonderful person. What a great parenting job you have done. We share your grief, and wish you strength, courage, and happiness. Of course, your marvellous sense of humour will also help!
