Obituary of Mathew Rajan
It is with great sadness that the family of Mathew Rajan announces his passing, after a 2 ½ year battle with leukemia, on Sunday, April 5, 2020, at the age of 73. Mathew will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 48 years Saramma, his son James, and daughter Julia. Mathew will also be fondly remembered by his sister, Jaya Zachariah (in India), and was predeceased by his brother Thomas Mathai.
At this time, the Rajan family would like to thank the people that helped Mathew fight his courageous battle; his outstanding primary oncologist Dr. Uday Deotare, Dr. Anargyros Xenocostas, the amazing nurses and staff at the London Regional Cancer Program (LRCP) and C7 Inpatients at LHSC. Mathew thoroughly enjoyed talking and laughing with everyone during his appointments and admissions; and the care that was given to him during these occasions was unparalleled.
Due to the COVID-19 precautions and social distancing, there will not be a funeral service for Mathew at this time. In lieu of flowers, the Rajan family would like to ask those wishing to make a donation in memory of Mathew, to consider donating to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada.
