Although I didn’t know Poon Lam well, I was blessed to spend some time with her. When my wife and I first came to the Oneida Longterm Care facility 3 years ago as the new pastor of Oneida Baptist church, we were surprised to discover Poon Lam was from the same village of my wife Esther’s own mother, that being Shantou, and we’re blessed that Esther could communities her in her native tongue. She even attended some of our church services in the Home. She was an amazing woman and will be greatly by any and all who knew her and loved her.
