Obituary of Richard Hall
Richard was born in a coal camp in 1933 to Bert and Nola (Roberts) Hall. He celebrated his 81 st birthday with friends and family. He enjoyed 3 pieces of chocolate cake, we to bed and awoke to the face of his Lord and savior Jesus Christ. He lived in Riverside Ca. up until 3/14 when he moved back to Ohio to live with his beloved Sister Wilma (Lee). While there, he spent time with his brother Bobby and sister in law Sue. He “went up to the old home place” in Floyd Co .Kentucky. Where he visited with old friends from childhood. He moved to Oregon in July, living at Garden Way retirement community. He enjoyed meeting people. He truly never knew a stranger, everyone he met was a friend. The best friend a man could ever have is George Plant, “who has been more like a brother to me”. Richard himself was a loyal, generous man who would forgive anyone anything. Richard was Baptized in 2012. Richard joined the Marines at age 17. He spent the majority of his service years in Cuba. He really loved the hot weather (and the girls) in Cuba. He married Shirley Anne (Bachman) in 1955. That union produces three children. Rick, Audrey and Melissa. They divorced in 1971. He married Shirley May (Allen) in 1972 until her death in 2008. Richard worked in heavy construction most of his life. Driving low bed trucks or anything else that needed driving. He eventually owned and operated his own water trucks. That meant many, many long 12-15 hr days, 6 days a week. He enjoyed remembering those working years. He had many good times during those years and made many lifelong friends. Richard loved Bluegrass music. He was a lifelong student of the banjo. He spent many enjoyable hours playing and practicing it. He would attend any and every Bluegrass festival he could make it to. “there’s nothing to make a man happy like a beer and a banjo”. He is survived by Melissa and David Cole. Nic and Anna Cole. Wilma ( Lee) Casper, Bobby and Sue Hall. Audrey, Kenny and Amber Harris. Earl Allen, Danny Allen. Patti Allen & Cody Allen. He is pre-Deceased by his parents, Brothers Butler, Clarence and Leonard. His sisters Arcolas and Edna May. Wives Shirley Anne and Shirley Mae Hall.
