Obituary of Robert F. McLeod
McLEOD, Robert F. – Sept 11, 1919 – March 26, 2011.

Peacefully, surrounded by family and the caring staff at Chelsey Park Nursing Home, London Ontario. Bob will be dearly missed by Dorette McLeod, wife of 70 years and who has loved him for even longer. Father to Brian, Wayne, Wendy and Julie who will miss his inspiration and wisdom. Proud family patriarch of 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren who have been blessed to have such a great force in their lives. He will also be remembered by son-and-daughters-in-laws Louise, Kris and Len. He is survived by his brother Don McLeod.
Robert was an active Mason and member of many Lodges in Temiskaming District (DDDGM 2000-2001) and London West. He was a member of Nilestown #345, Doric #623, Heritage #730, Golden Beaver #528, Ashlar #610 as well as York Rite and other bodies. In 2003 Robert was presented with a Veteran Jubilee Medal and 50 year pin by the Grand Lodge of Canada in the Province of Ontario. Robert served in the Canadian Dental Corps from 1941-1946 in St. John’s, Newfoundland and London, Ontario. He was also an active member of Scouts Canada in London in the 50s and 60s. Many of the young men that he influenced looked to him for guidance up to his last days. Robert and Dorette spent 40 joyous years in Kirkland Lake and Northern Ontario. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Robert F. McLeod Philanthropic Fund administered by Ashlar Lodge #610 www.ashlarlodge610.ca , Diabetes Association Canada www.diabetes.ca or Scouts Canada www.scouts.ca . A Masonic memorial service will be held followed by a private service for family and close friends on April 23, 2011. His remains will be interred at Siloam Cemetery, London Ontario.
