Obituary of Maria Anna Nikas

NIKAS, Maria Anna - Peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, at Victoria Hospital in London, Ontario, on Family Day, Monday, February 21, 2011. Maria Anna Nikas, 51 years, of London. Beloved wife of Leonidas Nikas. Devoted mother of Nikki, Kostas, George, Toula and Katerina (Bunny) Nikas, all of London. Cherished grandmother of Adriel Constantine Luciano. Beloved daughter of George and the late Toula Nikolakakos, and beloved sister of Stella Nikolakakos Kambas and husband Dionysios Kambas, Dimitri Lascaris and wife Farida Fareh Lascaris, and Tasia Sozou and husband Nikos Sozos. She will be missed by many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins. Maria’s family was the center of her life, and Maria was the heart of her family. Maria’s beauty, class, and elegance brightened the lives of those who knew her, and her graceful presence simply lit up a room. The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors who provided Maria with their devoted care. Visitors will be received on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. with prayers at 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 131 Southdale Road West, London at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 25, 2011.
