Obituary of George Campbell

George Ronald Campbell of Junction City, Oregon passed away December 19, 2014 at the age of 79. George was born April 20, 1935 in Eugene, Oregon to Hobart and Viola Campbell. He graduated from Eugene High School in 1953 and married Patricia Rae Thomas in November of 1957 in Reno, Nevada.George served in the U.S. Army at Fort Gordon in Augusta, Georgia. He worked for Pacific Northwest Bell and AT&T for over 30 years. George enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with Patty and their 3 children.In 1972, George and Patty purchased a small farm near Fern Ridge Lake in Alvadore. They later purchased property on River Road, with existing Filbert Orchards and pasture. The majority of the acreage was then developed as a U-Cut Christmas Tree Farm which remains in operation today.George was preceded in death by his wife, Patty, brothers, Richard and J-R, and sister, Donna. He is survived by his two sons, Mike (wife Judy), Steven and one daughter, Linda Nix, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, brother, Raymond and sisters, Virginia, Shirley, Geri, Marge and Darlene.A Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 27th at West Lawn Memorial Funeral Home (225 S. Danebo) from 3-7 PM. A Memorial Service to celebrate George’s life is scheduled for Sunday, December 28th at 3:00 PM. Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary.
