Obituary of Else Lowery

Else Kreszentia Lowery of Eugene passed away Friday December 19th of age related causes. She was 79. Else is survived by three daughters Donna Lowery of Olympia, Washington, Ingrid Lowery of Portland, Oregon, and Patricia MacKinnon (Scott) of Sherwood, Oregon, grandchildren Nick, Gabriel, and Stephanie MacKinnon, and son-in-law Pat Daly of Tumwater, WA. Else was preceded in death by her husband Edmond Lowery, daughter Karen Daly, sisters Martha Smith and Elfriede Smathers, and her unborn grandchild.Else was born to Kreszenzia and Albert Bothner in Munich, Germany on July 16, 1935. She came to Ellis Island with her parents in 1952 on the SS America and settled in Eugene. Else was a dental assistant until she married Ed on April 4, 1959 on Long Island, New York. Else spent the following years in Eugene as a dedicated homemaker and mother of their four daughters. Ed and Else shared 33 years of marriage before Ed passed away in 1992, after which she spent a lot of time spoiling her beloved grandchildren. She will be remembered as a dedicated, compassionate, and loving wife, mother, Oma, and Duck fan. Above all else, her commitment to the Catholic Faith will serve as an example to many for years to come. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.A Rosary service will be at 9:30 AM followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM at St. Mark Catholic Parish in Eugene on Monday, December 29.
