Obituary of Mary Vamvakaris

Vamvakaris, Mary – Peacefully with family by her side on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at London Health Sciences Centre- Victoria Hospital, in her 73rd year. Cherished and beloved wife of Jack Vamvakaris of 50 years. Treasured and loving mother of Penny and Patty (Mike). Proud YiaYia of Natasha, Maria Sarah and Jacob. Mary will also be missed by her siblings, Kathy (Tony), George (Joanna), Voula (Periklis), Antigoni (Vagelli), Eugenia (Tony) and Gus (Voula). Sadly missed by her brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Throughout her life Mary touched many people’s hearts and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be held at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, on Monday from 7:00-9:00 p.m. with prayers being held at 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 131 Southdale Road West, on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at 1:00 p.m., with Fr. Elias Drossos officiating. Interment, Woodland Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Mary are asked to consider the Canadian Cancer Society. Her wonderful spirit will live in our hearts forever.
