Obituary of Sharon Harshbarger

Sharon L Harshbarger of Redwood Valley, CA passed away on December 26th, 2014. She was born March 20, 1953 in San Jose, CA. She graduated from Los Gatos High School and earned an associates degree as well as several specialized certifications and degrees in banking.Sharon enjoyed life to the fullest and found adventure around every corner. She was able to find something in common with nearly every person and situation rarely meeting a stranger - only new friends. She loved to take long motorcycle rides and spend time with friends, family, grandchildren and her beloved dogs. She often expressed fond memories of growing up in the country near Tumalo, Oregon.Sharon made the most of every opportunity. She had been in the banking industry from more than 20 years and with Savings Bank of Mendocino County for more than 15 years including positions as branch manager in several locations.Sharon spent many happy hours volunteering and serving the community through fundraisers, 4H auctions, bicycle and motorcycle rides and Leadership Mendocino. She was very involved with the Inland Humane Society of Mendocino County and the Philanthropic Educational Organization for Women (PEO) in the Ukiah, CA area.Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Roy Everhart. She is survived by her mother, Shirley Everhart, husband Brian Harshbarger, daughters Geni Atkinson and Cathy Gallegos, five grandchildren (Rachal, Christopher, Emily, Gregory and Alex), as well as many beloved siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.The celebration of life will be held at 10am Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Redwood Valley Community Church, 951 East School Way, Redwood Valley, CA 95470.In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation or gift to the Inland Humane Society of Mendocino County (http://mendohumanesociety.com/) or the PEO Sisterhood in the Mendocino area.Printed obituaries will be found in the Ukiah Daily Journal, Lake County Record-Bee, Mendocino Beacon and Ft.
