Obituary of Tim Brown

BROWN, Tim – After a short but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, on Sunday, April 25th, 2010, at his home, Tim Brown in his 61st year. Beloved husband of Cindy Smith. Dear father of Andy (Cindy). Adored grandpa of McKenzie. Dear brother of Brian and Dwight and uncle of Craig and Cory Dean. Son of Lee and the late Bob Brown. Tim was a Human Rights activist for the Ontario Public Service Employee’s Union and for the Ontario Federation of Labour. In addition to serving as Chair for the Aboriginal Circle of OPSEU and as Vice President for the Aboriginal People to the OFL, Tim was also a Tradition Teacher and an Eagle Feather Carrier for the Six Nations of the Grand River. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, on Thursday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. where a Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 30th, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. Donations to the L.H.S.F. – Cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family.
