Gerald Clift

Obituary of Gerald Frederick George Clift

Peacefully in his 76th year, after a brief illness, at University Hospital in London, Ontario, on Tuesday, December 21st, 2010. Beloved husband of Sheri, father to Alison and her husband Bill of Calgary, and Sarah and her husband Uli of Dartmouth. Adored grandfather of Aaron, Liam and Tovah. Predeceased by his sister Barbara and his brother Garth. Born in Saskatchewan in 1935, Gerry first pursued a military career. After attending Royal Military College he was stationed overseas for a number of years. Gerry enjoyed a long career in the Thames Valley District School Board, teaching at Beal, Oakridge and Banting, where he was admired by students and teachers alike. After his retirement from teaching in the early nineties, Gerry and Sheri travelled extensively. More than anything else, he treasured the time he spent with his family, and all of us will miss him. Friends and family will be received at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Monday, December 27th, 2010 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. where the memorial service will follow in the chapel at 3:00 p.m. Those wishing to make a donation in Gerry’s name are asked to consider My Sister’s Place (People in Transition, Inc.) or Mission Services of London.
