Obituary of Timothy Schieferstein

Timothy Mark Schieferstein, age 61, was born March 27, 1953 in San Mateo, California, and passed away on January 25, 2015 after a five-month battle with bile duct cancer. Tim was raised in Grants Pass, Oregon by John and Gloria Schieferstein. In the late 1960s, the Schieferstein family moved to Veneta and then Elmira. After Tim graduated from Elmira High School in 1972, he moved to Eugene and worked for Goodwill Industries and then at the National Cycle Service Center on West 11th for many years. Tim was also a member and volunteer at the Oregon Air & Space Museum and enjoyed sweeping and dusting around the historic airplanes. Tim was also a member and helped the Janitorial staff at Willamette Christian Church.Tim loved classic cars and enjoyed going to classic car shows around Eugene. He was also an advocate for a cleaner community and was an avid recycler. Tim enjoyed helping others with outdoor projects like building fences and mowing lawns, including the common area at the end of his street. He also enjoyed restoring used bikes, lawnmowers, and weed eaters.Tim is survived by his sister, Renée Wright and her husband, Donnie of Sunriver, Oregon; and his niece, Lindsay Kincaid and her husband Justin of Bend, Oregon.Tim was laid to rest next to his parents at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Grants Pass.
