Obituary of Virginia Parlette
Virginia Parlette formally of River Ranch, Clatskanie passed away peacefully at her son’s home surrounded by her husband of 59 years, and six children, who had all been by her side during her brief illness. Virginia was born in Battle Creek, Michigan, on February 11, 1933. She was the oldest of three daughters, born to Eleanor and Roy Mason. Virginia and Gordon were married on September 4, 1954, eventually settling in Clatskanie in 1975. She is survived by her husband, Gordon and their six children: Lynn (Gayle) Parlette of Eagle Point, OR, Larry (Krista) Parlette of Creswell, OR, Layne (Elaine) Parlette of Clatskanie, OR, LeaAnne Parlette (Bill Richter) of San Francisco, CA, Lisa (Curt) Chambless of Springfield, OR, and Lora (Steve) Granger of Myrtle Beach, SC. She has 12 grandchildren; Michelle, Sabrina, Jared, Stephanie, Monica, Mason, Elliot, Kelley, Kristen, Rachel, Raleigh, and Rob. Two great- grandchildren also survive - Natalie and Mason, with another due in December. Virginia spent most of her life caring for her husband and children. She always enjoyed the time she shared with special friends, whether running to the casino for the afternoon, or chatting over a cup of coffee. She loved playing with her children and grandchildren. She was truly young at heart. We will miss her dearly and look forward to seeing her again in heaven. We love you forever mom.
