Obituary of Mildred Potter

Mildred (Millie) Potter passed away peacefully in the hospital on February 7th, 2015 with all of her beloved family present. Millie was born October 21st, 1940 to Emmitt and Velma Alexander in Sleeper, Missouri. She moved a lot at a young age but found herself living in McKenzie Bridge, Oregon where she met the love of her life, Dennis (Denny) Potter. Millie married Denny shortly after high school and they moved to Eugene. Millie and Denny were married for fifty-six years until she passed. Millie started a custom drapery business in the late 60’s, which remains in business and thriving today.Two children, Brian and Gary Potter whom both live in Eugene, survive Millie. She is also survived by one brother, Jesse Alexander of Lake View, Oregon. She has four beloved grandchildren: Kyle, Matthew, Jody, and Aimee. Millie is finally survived by three great-grandchildren whom she adored: Reese, Kyler, and Finley.Millie enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing and spending time with her family and friends. Millie will be remembered for the upbeat, caring compassionate person that she was. She was devoted to her family and loved planning and putting together family gatherings. Millie was always in good spirit, making her a delight to be around. With a joyful, continuous smile, she uplifted all that were around her. Millie was loved by everyone in the community that knew her, and she will be remembered and missed by all of us who loved her so much.Funeral service for Millie will be held at West Lawn, at 225 South Danebo Avenue in Eugene, on February 13th, 2015, at 2:00 p.m.Arrangements entrusted to Musgrove Family Mortuary.
