Obituary of Betty Hamby

Betty Ruth Hamby of Eugene, Oregon, passed away on February 11, 2015. She was a resident of Eugene for over 50 years.Betty was born on December 2, 1935 in Strange, Oklahoma to William & Rutha (Johnson) Dubois.She married Billy Joe Hamby on November 8, 1954, he passed away on July 28, 2013.Betty was a homemaker, loving to care for her husband, children and home. She was a doll maker, enjoyed sewing, crocheting, making beautiful blankets, boating, camping, trips to the coast, shopping and spending time with her family. Betty was a member of the Church of Christ.She is survived by her son, Jeffery Hamby of Eugene, OR, and 3 daughters, Crystal Ritchie of Vernonia, OR, Terri Balek of Springfield, OR and Alicia Hamby of Estacada, OR. Also a sister, Ruby of Lake Oswego, OR., 26 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.A funeral service will be held at Musgrove Family Center on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at 2:00 PM, a viewing will precede the service from 12:00 to 2:00. A Burial will take place following the service at Lane Memorial Gardens, Eugene, OR.
