Dear Tim, Tom, Laura & Your Families: When I was a new teacher at Central Elgin Collegiate Institute, a little lost and more than a little afraid, your dad - I still see his name William F. M. Haight on the bronze plaque on the Science Department Office - was tremendously kind to me. I remember the invitations to lunch or to dinner at the home on Park Avenue in St. Thomas, and the splendid paintings he showed me, my introduction to local artists. He represented excellence in education; he embodied a kind and gentle heart. I am sorry for your loss. C.P. When I remember Bill, several descriptors come to mind - kind, friendly, gentlemanly, unfailingly polite, and always positive in outlook. When I joined the staff at CECI, he welcomed me warmly, and convinced me to join the Board of Directors of the St. Thomas-Elgin Art Gallery; thence began my long association with that organization.
