Obituary of Alfred Hall
Alfred Hall passed away on February 20, 2015 at 93 years, of age related causes. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 12, 1921.Alfred was a loving husband and a wonderful father. Family was so important to him. Alfred was a very intelligent man who had a mind that was always searching and looking for a new interest. He loved the outdoors and even walked part of the John Muir Trail.After serving in the 34th Infantry during the Occupation of Japan from 1946 to 1948, Alfred decided to attend college at the University of Miami and earn his Industrial Engineering degree. While at the university he learned to fly and on several occasions he flew a small Cessna down to Havana, Cuba for the weekend. After graduating Alfred returned to Detroit, MI and worked as a Tool & Die Maker. At this time he joined the Detroit News Hikers in 1950. It is there that he met Edith Bartlett and they married on May 21, 1956.To secure a better job and future for the family they moved to Long Beach, CA in 1960. Alfred was hired at the Long Beach Naval Shipyard and he retired from there as an Industrial Engineer in 1990.In 1997 Alfred and Edith moved to Bremerton, WA to be near their daughter, Pamela Hall, another move was made in 2009 to Eugene, OR where they share a home.Another life long interest was shooting and reloading. Alfred was a life long member of the NRA. He also received medals for marksmanship in the army.Alfred will be missed by his wife of 58 years & daughter, Pamela Hall. His wife, Edith knows he is with his Heavenly Father and someday they will be together again.There will be no services. Alfred will be interred in the columbarium in the Church of Epiphany, Denver, Colorado.Memorial contributions can be made to the American Bible Society, PO Box 96812, Washington, DC 20090 or charity of your choice.Arrangements entrusted to Musgrove Family Mortuary.
