Obituary of Darlene Dobson

Darlene Lorree Dobson (Bockes) was born on October 10, 1935, in Eugene to Harry and LaVelle Bockes. She passed away on February 26, 2015, from a long illness of pulmonary fibrosis at the age of 79.Darlene married John Dobson on August 28, 1954. Darlene was a loving homemaker for her husband and three children. She worked as a Kindergarten Teacher at Westmoreland Elementary and a Teacher's Assistant at McCornack Elementary of 4J District.Darlene enjoyed the company of her grandchildren and family. She loved to travel and enjoyed the outdoors, especially at Cloud 9, a family camping property.She was involved with her church (Emmaus Lutheran) as a ministry supporter and in many areas, such as choir, women's groups, quilting and volunteered wherever needed.John and Darlene recently celebrated their 60th anniversary with their family. Darlene enjoyed many hobbies throughout her life. She enjoyed many types of music and supported her children and grandchildren in their musical interests and professional endeavors.Darlene is survived by her husband, John; son, David (Elaine); sister, Loretta (Dale), daughter, Tammie (David); son, Kirk; and grandchildren, Chris, John, Daniel, Luke and Cameron.A memorial service will be held at Emmaus Lutheran Church on Friday, March 6, at 11 AM. Casual wear and your favorite sports team or indy racing shirts are encouraged. Memorial contributions may be made to Women Quilter's at Emmaus and Sunday School.
