Obituary of Lenore Ellis

Lenore Violet Ellis of Fall Creek, Oregon, died April 14, 2015, after a brief illness. She was 79. At her request, no service is planned.Lenore was born January 28, 1936, in Chicago, Ill., to Andy and Tommie Gier. She married Phil Ellis in 1959 in Riverside, Cal.Lenore graduated from Polytechnic High School in Riverside, Cal., in 1954. She retired from the University of California, Riverside in 1991.Lenore loved animals, especially her dogs, and generously supported wildlife conservation. She was an active member in the Emerald Valley Women’s Golf Club, and recorded her first hole-in-one there in July, 2006.Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Laurie Walmer of Atlantic Beach, Fla., and Tracy Ellis of Springfield, Ore.; and three grandchildren, Lindsay Cason, Morgan Ellis and Kelly Cason.Memorial contributions may be made to Greenhill Humane Society, 88530 Green Hill Rd, Eugene, OR 97402.
