Obituary of Mel Henricks

March 13, 1933 – April 11, 2015Mel Henricks of Eugene, Oregon passed away at home on April 11, 2015. He was the son of Merlin Melvin Henricks Sr and Violet May Henricks. He was born in Caldwell, Kansas and moved to Bell Gardens, CA where he lived with his parents and siblings, La Veda, Lucille, Merlene, Leon and Roy Dean Hendricks.He was in the army. He married his soul mate and beloved wife Earline Virginia Henricks and raised two sons, Gary Melvin and Chris Steven Henricks.The family moved to Oregon in 1959 and he started his business, Mel’s Brake Service. The family lived in their home on the McKenzie River. Mel retired in 1983. Mel and Earline moved to La Pine then moved back to Eugene in the late 1990’s to be with family again.Mel is survived by his son Chris Steven Henricks and his daughter- in- law Gloria L. Henricks, his grandsons and their wives, Jeremy Steven Henricks and Mindy Kay Henricks and Nathan Ray Henricks and Lisa Marie Henricks, sister-in-law Nancy Henricks, brother-in-law Leo Lambert and three wonderful great- grandchildren, Avery Kay Henricks, Brayden Ray Henricks and Jackson Christopher Henricks.Mel enjoyed hunting and fishing, which was his passion. He was always busy with projects. He had many friends.The Celebration of Life ceremony and Pot Luck will be held at the Staffordshire Club House, In Pleasant Hill, OR, on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at 1:00 PM.His was a life well lived.
