Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy. ~ Author Unknown I had the great pleasure of working with Yolanda as her Administrative Support when she worked at Middlesex-London Health Unit with the PHRED Program. Although we had lost touch I thought of her often. My condolences to her family who I know meant the world to her. Nancy

I was deeply saddened to hear about Yolanda's passing today. I had the pleasure of teaching her daughter Alison in elementary school, and therefore had the opportunity to get to know Yolanda and all the family. She was an incredibly warm and caring mother and I felt fortunate to have her as a supportive parent in my classroom. I am so glad that I had the chance to get to know her. I can only imagine how difficult this is for all of you. I hope that you know how much your mother was respected by all of the staff at the school. Thinking of you.... Denise Abbott

I worked with Yolande , many years ago when she first came to the health unit, and touched bases , on and off over the years. Always knowledgeable conscientious and caring , it was a priviledge to know her. Yolande had a lovely smile, which I saw not long ago as she spoke of her family and her work. I will remember her as happy with life ! To Sauro , Allison and Jessica, Yolandes parents and family I extend my sincere sympathy.

Ever since I first worked at the Health Unit, Yolanda's smile was something that gave everyone a lift. She was not only an intelligent, perceptive woman, but a deeply caring individual, who always had time to ask about and listen to other people's struggles and achievements. As an Advanced Practice Nurse, Yolanda exemplified the qualities of excellence in nursing: caring, compassion, intellect and humour. She will be missed by all of us in the nursing community. It's so sad to consider her passing. She leaves a gap in the world of nursing, but her friendship and nursing leadership over the years will be remembered and valued. My deepest condolences to her family.

During the 35 years that we have known and loved Yolanda, we watched her get married, raise two amazing daughters and become the fierce soldiering wife and mother that she became. We have never known her to be idle- work was in her blood. Not only did she always work but work hard, always hurried from here to there, always looking for jobs to be done, situations to be improved, questions to be answered or follies to be questioned, and all of that always with a smile or a laugh and always on top of her unwavering devotion to her family, young and old. What was all the hurry? we now wonder in retrospect. Did she know that her time was short? For we certainly did not know and will forever miss her sweet smile. Our love and sympathy to Sauro, Alison and Jessica.

We never know why people cross our paths. I worked with Yolanda on the fringes but whenever I saw her she would always take a few minutes to ask how I was doing, no matter how busy she was and she was genuinely interested in what I had to say. As much as she hurried around, she was focused on what I was saying and did not seem to want to rush off. That is a good leader! I will truely miss that infectious smile of hers. My condolences to her much loved family.

Mary Bawden for the School of Nursing posted a condolence
My faculty colleagues and I at the Arthur Labatt Family School of Nursing at Western were both shocked and saddened by Yolanda's untimely death. Personally, I have know Yolanda since she was a new BScN grad and we have continued to be in touch professionally throughout both of our careers in London. She was also well known by several of the faculty here at the school and we had great respect for her in her various professional roles. We are especially grateful both for her role-modelling of what it is to be a professional nurse and her on-going support of our students in the clinical practice setting. Yolanda was a woman who made a difference - every day - for so many. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family. Mary B.

Although we did not get the chance to meet Yolanda , we have become extremely fond of her daughter Alison, who has dated our son Darren for the past few years. Alison was very proud of her mom and spoken often of her accomplishments in her nursing career. We can't imagine how difficult these past few months have been for the family. Ali, you were a real rock for your mom. We are sure that she was grateful and so proud of you. Our sincere sympathy to Alison, her dad Sauro, sister Jessica and Yolanda's parents and family.

As long-time neighbours of the Camilettis, we were very saddened to hear of Yolanda's passing. We remember sharing the trials and triumphs of building a house from the ground up, seeing the children off to new grades and schools, lively sidewalk chats in all kinds of weather and the way that Yolanda could find the amusing side of any situation. Her warmth and friendliness will always be remembered. Our deepest sympathy to Sauro, Alison and Jessica.
