Obituary of Dorothy Arlene Maginnis

MAGINNIS, Dorothy Arlene (nee Walker) – Born 22 March 1920, died peacefully in her sleep on 16 August 2010 at Queens Gardens in Hamilton, Ontario. Only child of Kate and Gordon Walker, Dorothy was wife to the late Grant Maginnis. Beloved mother of Hayden, Robert (the late Wendy), and Paul (Donna); grandmother to Robert Jr. (Mandy) and Kate (Jamie); and great grandmother to Morgan and Justin Maginnis. A life-long member of Colborne United Church, Dorothy was active in, and supporter of, several London charities. She is remembered fondly by friends and neighbours. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 19, 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. and Friday, August 20, 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, where the funeral will be conducted on Friday at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, Dorothy asked that donations be made to the Children’s Health Foundation where, for over fifty years, she was a volunteer.
