GRIFFITH, HAROLD A. - Passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 in Windsor Ontario. Beloved husband of Mary Elizabeth (nee Duff) for 60 years. Loving father of Susan and husband Philip Hardie of Cambridge, England and Robert Griffith and his wife Debbie of Windsor. Proud grandfather of Kathryn and Juan Griffith, Hugh Hardie and David Hardie (1989-2008). Predeceased by brothers James, Lloyd, Ivan and Stanley and by sisters Lillian and Marjorie. Harold was born in Gore Bay, Manitoulin, son of Robert and Maud Griffith. He started his career as a teacher in a one-room school on Manitoulin Island and ended his career as assistant director of education for Southwestern Ontario based in London. He served overseas with the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1942 to 1946. He was a member of Metropolitan United Church and the Kiwanis Club of Middlesex from 1976 to 2009. Funeral Service will be held at the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, on Monday, August 9, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior. Interment, Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
