Obituary of Mike Weigle

Michael "Mike" Anthony Weigle was born April 28, 1945 in Waynesboro, PA. He was the 6th of John and Martha Weigle's 8 children.He is survived by his wife Laurie, twin sister Kathryn Nelson (Rodney), sister's Billie Mann (Arthur) and Robin LemMon (Thomas), daughter Manette Frye, stepsons Daemon Knight (Carolyn), and Curtis Knight, grandchildren Alannah, Alexis, Jacob, and Avery Grace, and a multitude of Aunts, Uncles, cousins, Nieces and Nephews.Mike grew up in rural Maryland having an idyllic childhood active in Boy Scouts, family camping trips, and playing baseball. At age 14 years of age, he moved to San Diego graduating from Hoover High School. He served in the U.S. Army becoming a veteran of the Vietnam War. Mike owned and operated a manufacturing company in San Diego, moving it to Peaks Island, Maine where he developed many wonderful friends including Father Fred Morse of the Catholic Church. Mike retired and moved to Walterville, Oregon with his wife and best friend of 36 years. They moved into the home of their dreams built for them by their son Daemon in 2012. Mike was an avid sports fan enjoying all sports, especially the horses.Michael will be deeply missed and held forever in the hearts of his family, friends, and canine companions. He was good natured, gentle, caring and loved by all who came to know him.Viewing at St. Mary Catholic Church, Eugene OR. at 11:00 AM on May 22, 2015, mass at 12:15 PM with Celebrant Fr. Ron Nelson, followed by burial at Greenwood Cemetery.In Lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Greenhill Humane Society or ASPCA.
