Lois (Byrne) & Lorne Eckstein posted a condolence
Dear Tim, Nicki and Richard, Please accept our heartfelt sympathy during this very difficult time. I believe that Joyce touched the hearts of everyone she befriended. She and I went through grade school and high school together followed by a one year special commercial course. We were close friends during many of those years. We attended the Hugh Beaton School reunion together back in the early 1980's, however, she didn't wish to attend the Walkerville High School reunion last year. I have many fond memories of Joyce. She will be missed terribly by many people and she will always have a very special place in my heart. Lois (Byrne) & Lorne Eckstein

Dear Tim, Nicki and Richard, Joyce will be missed by your family and by many friends. Joyce was a good friend for over 10 years when I was living and working in Windsor (mid to late 60s) and visiting regularly (70s). We spent many hours together with friends growing up. I will always remember the car load of girls coming into the Big Boy on Tecumseh Rd on Friday and Saturday nights and driving around looking for boys. We used to spend hours there drinking pop, talking, visiting back and forth and seldom, if ever, going inside the restaurant. The cars and the parking lot were sure the focus of our evenings. And we even spent some evenings bowling usually at the Rose Bowl (I think). Joyce always enjoyed a good laugh as we spent hours talking in the cars. There must have been 10 or 12 of us in the group. I think we all smoked back then. On weeknights, we had to go home early because we worked the next day. But on weekends, we stayed up until the wee hours just because we could. Joyce will be missed. She had a wonderful friendly personality. Heather and I send our deepest sympathies to you. Jerry

My deepest sympathy to Tim, Nicki, and Richard. Joyce was my best friend in high school at Walkerville. We had many sleepovers at her house, whenever I pass her old house I think of those days. I am so glad we reconnected for the last couple of years and were able to keep in touch thru emails. She will always be there in my memories. May the good times and memories of Joyce help you during this very difficult journey. thank you Nicki for your correspondence with me. Prudie

Tim: I remember so very fondly the many wonderful times we had together and regret---so very much--having lost touch with you all. While reading these condolences, I am reminded of the "good old Big Boy days" that Jerry (Beausoleil) talked about and shared in the good times bowling and playing cards that Sandi (Galasso) mentioned and it was Lois (Byrne) who first introduced Joyce and I so many years ago. We vacationed together, shared dreams together, laughed and cried together and yes--stood up at eacher other's weddings. I am devastated to read about her passing...our deepest sympathy to you Tim and please pass on our heartfelt condolences to Nicki and Richard. Ron & Helen Gauthier
