I was so sorry to hear about Mr. Kadlecik. He was my Grade 8 teacher at St. George's Public School in the 1960's and was such a wonderful teacher. It was an advancement class and he always made the lessons very interesting and was a kind and caring mentor to all his students. I will remember him as one of my favourite teachers. Please know that my thoughts are with you.

Dear Sarah - Not sure if you'll remember me from Mountsfield Public School days gone by, but couldn't help but write a brief note of sympathy to you and your family. I was shocked to see your father's name on this site and to learn that you have lost your dad in the same week I have lost mine... Strange and sad coincidence. If I understand the above details correctly, you have two daughters, as do I. And you may have spent today as we have - thinking that our dad still had a lot of good "grandpa" years left in him - so frustrating to lose someone too early. Wishing you strength in family and friends during this emotional time. You're in our thoughts. Sincerely, Jennifer (Harkness) Robertson and family

I was saddened to hear about the passing of the very best teacher in the history of all teachers. Mr. Kadlecik was my grade 7 teacher at Clara Brenton Public School in the early 90s. I enjoyed him so much that I asked for him again for my grade 8 year. I remember when summer break came telling him that I did not want it to be summer break because I know I would not be able to see him until Sept of that year so he let me help clean up his classroom and get it organized for the next Sept. My. good friend and I at the time used to spend the lunch hours and recesses in his classroom where he would teach us about the verses in the Bible etc. What a gem the world has lost. I pray for the entire family in this sad time and please know that your husband, father and grandfather was one of the greatest gifts to the world and may he rest in peace and watch over you.

Dear Aunt Sharon and cousins Jeff, Jason, Sarah and families. You are all in our thoughts and prayers for your loss. Uncle Joe was a wonderful teacher and I remember our annual family Christmas gatherings with fondness. They were very special to me, having family together. We said prayers for Uncle Joe last night with friends here in New York City and will do so again this evening. "O my God! O Thou forgiver of sins, bestower of gifts, dispeller of afflictions! Verily, I beseech Thee to forgive the sins of such as have abandoned the physical garment and have ascended to the spiritual world. O my Lord! Purify them from trespasses, dispel their sorrows, and change their darkness into light. Cause them to enter the garden of happiness, cleanse them with the most pure water, and grant them to behold Thy splendors on the loftiest mount." 'Abdu'l-Baha. Much love, Paula and Mike and family.

Dear Kadlecik family: Please accept my condolences on Joe's death. It takes me back to those glorious days of the Medway High School champion track and field teams in the mid fifties. Dunc Hoople was our coach and we travelled all over the province in his beaten up car to the various indoor and outdoor meets with the bamboo vaulting pole strapped to the roof. Joe and I lost touch over the years but ran into each other now and then when teachers met during PD days, etc. I was also the one who bought George's house in Southcott Pines. George and I spent some time reminiscing those great days of the fifties and, of course, talking about Joe and his athletic prowess. Oh, how I miss those days when we were all young and the world was our oyster. Sincerely, George Reintjes, retired teacher from G.A. Wheable and Central Secondary School

I was so sad to read about the passing of Mr. Kadlecik. He was my Grade 5 teacher at Bishop Townsend back in the 70s. I have thought of him many times since then. He was the nicest, most caring teacher I had. My favourite memories are from when I would attend his bible studies class during lunch hour. I would like to send my thoughts and prayers to his family during this difficult time. He truly was a caring teacher and I will never forget him.

My absolute condolenses to Momma K and Jeff, Jason and Sarah. I know that Papa Joe was an amazing teacher but I also wanted to say that he was a man who showed compassion and interest in a young man with diabetes too. He came to my hospital bed the day after I was diagnosed and I will never forget that he prayed for me and with me. He made/taught how to overcome and know that everything works for a purpose. I have taken his lesson to heart and still have the bible he gave me 29 years ago. God blessed him with a great family and made such an impact with him. He is missed. Love to all of you.

Mr Kadlecik will be remembered by me as a man with a smile always upon his face. He taught me in grade 9 and 10 at CAWO. I remember he randomly bursting into song, I remember his doing a little dance to get our attention, and I remember him passionately sharing with us about what we were learning. I am so sad to hear of Joe's passing, but am thankful he is now in the arms of his Lord and Saviour. May you each find grace and peace in Him.

Jeff and Family, I am so sorry for your loss. I am so pleased that your father was such a positive influence on so many. People have divine purposes in life and the whole of someone's value cannot be determined by one small view but the views of all the lives he touches. I wish I could be with you on Saturday but I have lives to touch myself. Please know that I love and support you all, now and if you ever need me. Marcy Erhardt and Robert Holderman

Mr. Kadlecik was my grade 8 teacher at Clara Brenton public school (1988). The funny thing is that I went through all my grade 8 graduation pictures a few weeks ago (before I saw the obituary) and commented on how much I enjoyed having him a teacher. I will forever remember him taking the time after school to sit down with me and teach me how to play the recorder. I had a very rough time with this and he took his own personal time to teach me. I will also remember the words he whispered to me at graduation as he handed me my diploma. "You are a very bright student. You will succeed at anything you do. Congrats." I have to say that there are only 3 teachers who really made an impression in my life. I am proud to say that Mr. Kadlecic was one of them. My condolences to the family and friends of this wonderful man. I am so sorry for your loss. May your memories of him help you through this difficult time, and please know that there will be many people who will miss him as much as you do. Sincerely, Diane (Harlton) Lawrence

Mr. K was my tutor in grade 7 and grade 8. I have struggled with math my entire life, and I deeply appreciate Mr. K's patience and persistence as a teacher. The wonderful thing about having him as an instructor was that he made a real effort to get to know me as a person, at a time when I felt misunderstood by most of, if not all, the adults in my life. My condolences go out to the Kadlecik family, for they have lost a truly special person.

Mr. K was my grade 7 teacher at Clara Brenton (1987). I remember many things about that class. Most of all was Joe's morning coffee, his scripture reading and his ongoing tales of his family. He was a passionate teacher and a truly great man. Someone I looked up to for sure. I am sorry for your loss and thank you for sharing Mr. K with so many of us. Darren

Joe will always be remember by those he taught and by those who had the privilege of teaching along side of him. Know this; he touched many lives, but ours in a very special way. Glad He is now in the presence of the King of Kings.
