Obituary of Jeanne Wales

Jeanne M. Wales passed away on May 17th. She was born in 1923 in Fairbury, Nebraska to Jesse and Martha Moore who moved to Topeka, Kansas in 1928. There Jeanne attended public schools and graduated from Washburn Municipal University in 1945. She was a member of Alpha Phi Sorority and Pi Gamma Mu honorary social science fraternity.She married Max Wales in Topeka on May 7, 1949 and they moved to Eugene in 1957. Here she was a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, League of Women voters, and AAUW. She enjoyed reading, bridge, music, and sports.She is survived by her two children; Bruce (Sheila) Wales, Sandra (Eric) Wright; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 6th at St. Mary Episcopal Church in Eugene.Contributions in her memory may be made to St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Cascade Manor Foundation, Hospice or Habitat for Humanity.
