Obituary of Larry Boyet
Larry Boyet passed on to a higher dimension on May 27, 2015 after a well fought battle against cancer.He was born in Longview, WA on July 26, 1946 to Marlene & Everett Boyet. After graduation from Kelso High School in 1965 he was drafted into the Army and served a year in Vietnam where he earned 3 Purple Hearts & an assortment of other medals.He spent many more months in Japan recuperating from critical wounds sustained under fire in Vietnam, leaving him with a lifetime disability that he bravely endured without letting it hold him back from life.Larry went on to attend Lower Columbia College and worked in a series of wood product mills. He retired from Georgia Pacific as a shipping forklift driver in 2003.Larry loved hunting, traveling, dog handling & bowling with his vet buddies, but most of all he loved his wife Jennifer who he was married to for 40 years & their 3 children; Tara Cortes (Leo) and Chay & Tyler Boyet.Larry will be remembered as a man who approached everyone as if he’d known them for years. He was always able to put people at ease and make them laugh. Everyone was equal in his book.“We will miss you everyday for the rest of our days, we love you Dad.”Military Burial will be on Tuesday, June 9th at 3:00 PM, Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, OR.A Memorial will be announced.
