Dear Noreen and family, words always fail us at terrible times like this, but know so many of Al's friends now have part of their heart missing. Al was an excellent soldier and officer and provided so much to the Regiment during and long after retiring. Kathy and I send our deepest condolences from Mission, Texas and will see you when we get home in April. God Bless and may He lay His Hands upon you to provide comfort at this time and in the days ahead.

Noreen and Family: We shall always remember Al as THE ADJUTANT. He set an example for those of us who followed, although I dare say, none of us were able to duplicate. We cherish the time we spent together in Germany from 1962 to 1965. We are very sad to hear of Al's passing and can only hope that you can find comfort in knowing that he had a profound and positive effect on the lives of many officers and men in the regiment. He will be remembered. Pro Patria.

Noreen: Al will be sadly missed and always remembered. I had the good fortune to serve with him in Cyprus in 1966-67 and we served with both of you in Germany 1968-71. I fondly recollect his joy at the sauna with the Finnish contingent officers in Cyprus and sharing a half litre of beer with him in the Mess in Baden Solingen. The good old days. Al was a mentor to many of us in The Regiment. He took his job as an officer seriously but not to the point he didn't a good laugh. Oh the laugh! Always a gentleman and always looking out for others regardless of rank or circumstance. The Regiment is better because of Al. Pro Patria.
