What an enormous loss for anyone fortunate enough to have known Eric.One of those rare people we meet in life leaving a warmth taht stays with us always.To know Eric was to be invited in,welcomed and treated like an old friend.A true and genuine guy committed to his family/friends and art.I cannot say enough good things about him,he will be missed greatly.My condolences to his family.Rest in peace my friend.

Sad news indeed ! Eric was a force of nature: his enthusiasm for music, guitars and guitar gear was endless and infectious. We worked together for several years at The Twelfth Fret and attended the Chicago NAMM shows together...had some great laughs I must say ! Eric's joy for music and steel-trap memory for specs and detail on equipment was truly awe inspiring. He loved guitars but also introduced me to mountain bikes. He took me riding a few times...I must say he was usually a tiny speck way off in front of me...he could really go ! To Paul and family; my most sincere condolences. Such a loss. Erik had so much life and character in him. My deepest condolences to Paul and the family at this difficult time. Erik would always take the time to talk to me, even when he was busy. Sometimes we'd laugh about people not knowing what they were talking about. I worked up a great Erik impression over time. The trick was to open your eyes wide, exhale all you have, then start talking. Works. I will miss him, as many will. Sincerely, Paul Carroll

Although I had known Eric for the past few years,I felt like I had known him forever. He was kind,funny,and just a great gentleman.His enthusiasm for life and all things music was intoxicating. No matter how your day was going or how you were feeling at the time,just spending a few minutes with Eriic made everything in the World feel perfect. I was miss our daily conversations ,visits after work, and his mentoring and advice. Rest in Peace my friend. I will never forget you. Jeff Murphy

Eric was a great guy that everyone enjoyed working with. He always took time to talk to people, and I enjoyed conversing with him whenever he came into the store. He will be missed by everyone and always remembered. My deepest sympathy and thoughts are with you all. I hope that the memories of happier times spent with Eric will help to heal the empty places in your hearts, and bring you comfort in the lonely days ahead. I worked with Eric and Paul back in the early days with their huge blue van named Starship !!!! We did a lot of gigs and shows and Eric was great doing the sound mixes. There are so many stories about our travels we could fill a book. I am very saddened to have read about his passing and I wish all my sympathies to Paul and Eric's parents. I was hoping to meet up with Eric to share some of our old times but fate made it's choice so we will meet again sometime. Rest in peace Eric, you did have a good life.
