Obituary of DeLora Vitus

DeLora Vitus of Eugene passed away June 3, 2015 at the age of 82. She was born on March 6, 1933 in Ellensburg, Washington to parents Swede and Pearl Dorsey.She is survived by her husband, Herbert Alan “Barney” Vitus, whom she married June 1, 1957, her siblings Karin Dawson and Gary Dorsey, and her children: Paul (Shelley), Corey (Svetlana), Richard (Jana), Angela (Ronald), 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.DeLora graduated from St Francis High School in 1951. She worked for the phone company, Lane Community College, and as a volunteer at St Paul’s Catholic Church. She was well-known for her love of family, friends, music, the choir, Tole painting, baseball, and her Irish heritage. Most of all we will remember her contagious laughter, the twinkle in her eye, and heartwarming smile.A celebration of life will be held graveside at West Lawn Cemetery on June 27, 2015 at 1pm. In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to St. Paul’s Catholic Church Handicap improvements. Irish Blessings.
