Obituary of Etta Ide
Daughter of Ray and Hattie (Howard) Ross, Marie Ide of Eugene and previously Coquille, passed away in the early morning hours of July 1, 2015 of natural causes at the age of 84. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dean Ide in 2003, brothers Harold Martin, Robert Ross and sisters Hazel Phillips and Dorothy Thompson. She leaves behind her daughter Paula Douthit Frazer, son Marc Douthit, daughter-in-law Cynthia Nickle, son-in-law Scott Frazer and granddaughter Haylie Douthit. She worked as a bartender and waitress before settling with the World Newspaper from 1969 - 2003 where she was employed as a district manager and motor route delivery person to a good portion of rural Coos County. For the past five years Marie was a resident at the Valley West Assisted Living facility where she enjoyed playing Bingo, Wii bowling and visiting with residents as well as staff, many of whom she considered close personal friends. She was a thoughtful and caring mother, grandmother and friend who made a point of never missing a birthday or special occasion. Her passion for life and her infectious wit will be greatly missed by all who loved her. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2015; 11am to 2pm at Woodland Park Estates Club House, 1699 N. Terry, Eugene, OR. Arrangements entrusted to Musgrove Family Mortuary.
